Individuals and Business Merging Their Missions
Posted by: | CommentsBoth Business and Individuals can have Missions that give their organizations and life purpose. There are many areas where the modern business and enlightened individual can have merged Missions.
We are moving to an age of enlightenment with the assistance of science and technology. As we struggle with economics, global warming, resources, regional conflicts, and health care we are still making progress.
Computer technology is doubling every few years. Science at the University and Research level funded by government and industry is moving forward. Connectivity created by the Internet, Social Media, Cloud Technology, and Mobile devices is moving at light speed.
Organizations delivering information and connectivity such as Microsoft, Google, Face Book, and Apple are benefiting the globe through hyper competition. Man has never had the capacity for collecting information and reaching unlimited communities fast as he does today.
Technology has never had the global audience we now experience. In the poorest poverty stricken neighborhoods such as Bangladesh, entrepreneurs rent mobile phone time by the minute. Without a traditional source of electricity, squalid tent city homes of tin and canvas and dirt floors have TVs.
Developing countries have mobile phone access before they have land lines. They can sell and buy goods over their mobile phones. They can get loans and do their banking by texting their account numbers.
Never before has the word viral had such communication potential. Science has proved that photons can communicate faster than the speed of light which means we can go back in time. It means that cause can be reversed so the B happens before A.
What we haven’t yet connected is the significance of our scientific connection. We are all made from the same exact particles and elements. Science has proven that particles of the same source never lose their connectivity even if they are a million miles apart.
For 20 years the U.S. government funded Stanford research and studies of remote vision. We spied on the Soviet Union with people capable of visiting without going there. We have proven people can communicate thoughts remotely and instantaneously.
At some point we will realize our consciousness allows us to communicate without technology. At some point we will evolve to a point when, like other species, man recognizes his ability and proclivity to have a common mind.
There is the tale of monkeys living on several different islands. One day a monkey walked to the water to wash his yams. Soon more monkeys were doing the same. Before long, the monkeys on all the islands were walking to the water to wash their yams.
Flocks of Sparlings and schools of fish can turn instantly together in a move so fast it could not be communicated with verbal commands. Scientists say the brain is a hologram and the whole organ is capable of memory. By the same token consciousness is like a hologram and whole species can tune into common thoughts instantaneously.
Chaos Theory states that natural events occur as a result of positive and negative feedback loops. The question of whether a butterfly flapping its wings in Argentina can cause a tornado in Utah? Can a rock falling under the ocean precipitate a landslide that causes a tsunami? Can an act of kindness paid forward create a wave of kind acts?
When we realize that science and technology are paving the way to show us how to have universal communication of positive acts of kindness, it will become common place to help those we don’t even know. At the highest level of consciousness individuals and business can merge their Missions to begin those wings a flapping.

Creating New Customers
Posted by: | CommentsBusiness is creating New Customers by matching values.
The book “Spend Shift, how the post crisis values revolution is changing how we buy, sell and live” creates the scenario that is visiting every community. More consumers are interested in buying local and more businesses are interested in contributing to community.
Consumers are also concerned how Organizations treat their people, the public, and value the sustainability of the planet. Kindness was voted one of the valued attributes creating loyalty to a Provider.
Hard to imagine a lot of cigar smoking executives sitting around the conference table discussing how they have to inculcate kindness into their corporate culture. Well they better stop polluting, start sipping mountain fresh water, and get with it.
Conspicuous consumption consumer driven economies have weakened and utility products and environment conserving consumption has strengthened. Along with this trend is the parity created by social media where Providers and Consumers meet at the same table and exchange views.
More than ever consumers can cast their spending votes. The internet has created the rise of the long tail where consumers can find replacement parts for their electronic devices, appliances, and cars from hundreds of sources. New trends proliferate faster than product leaders can anticipate.
Every manufacturer is now creating strategies to fit the new “Sharing” culture that has gripped the cash strapped upwardly mobile global consumer. Car manufacturers are creating automobiles that can be sold with the idea of being shared.
The most valuable asset of any enterprise is not the product or service they provide today, but the reputation and image they create. They never know what business they may be in tomorrow, but their name conveys their concerns for quality, value, and caring.

What Separates Us From Peak Performance and Happiness?
Posted by: | CommentsThinking about the past and the future keeps you out of flow and happiness.
It’s that simple.
Flow is engaging in activities in which you have competence that create a challenge but are not overwhelming. In this state, you are not concerned about judgment and you lose track of time. The brain produces optimum adrenaline at about 30 hertz in Beta waves and dopamine which is our happiness drug.
Regret, worry, anxiety, blaming, fear, complaining, jealousy, and hatred are all thoughts about the past or future. They are the ego’s mechanisms to maintain control of our identity so that we think we know who we are.
When you maintain your focus on only what is happening now, the ego loses traction. One of the things I do when I find my mind drifting to past or future troublesome thoughts is concentrate on three breaths and the sounds occurring around me.
Spirituality teaches that happiness comes from three modalities. In our activities we accept what we are doing, we enjoy what we are doing, or we are enthusiastic about what we are doing.
If we do not like what we are doing and cannot justify its purpose, we should stop. Controlling our current feelings is taking responsibility for our consciousness and our life. Feeling joy in what we are doing is the purpose of life. Each moment should be so in the present that we are conscious of exactly how we feel, what we hear, and what we are thinking.
Thinking is part of our consciousness and we should be aware of our thoughts and decide what to do about them. When we are not thinking about the present, we should bring our thoughts to the present by being aware of our senses or some grounding exercise.
Enthusiasm is joy with a vision or plan. Like “flow”, enthusiasm is our self expression making a contribution that includes everyone’s participation. There is no ego or judgment in enthusiasm. There is no “I am great” or “I am better than others”.
We cannot change what happened in the past nor take care of tomorrow before tomorrow. If we stay in the present, in what we enjoy, and move towards our vision, tomorrow will be the best it can be.

How Anxiety Delivers What We Are Worrying About
Posted by: | CommentsIn Spirituality there are two worlds. There is the world we know by our senses and mind. There is a world that has no form.
Living in the world without form is living in the hear and now. It is the world that connects you to consciousness. When living in the hear and now you are connected to all Universal energies.
Living in the world of form is one dominated by ego. You have consciousness of your form as a vehicle separate from all other living forms. You live unconsciously in thoughts about the past and future. Your thoughts run a stream of desires, worry, anxiety, criticism, blaming, and fear.
It is difficult to enter the highest emotional intelligent state of “flow” where an activity is performed at your highest level because there are no distractions or judgments. You are performing at your peak and an athlete would say everything is seen in slow motion.
In “Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose” , Eckhart Tolle says we can live in three modalities that perfect our existence in consciousness. They are acceptance, enjoyment and enthusiasm.
Acceptance of an activity is the recognition that even if you do not like it, you need to complete it to move through to your purpose. This acceptance is a positive energy. If you cannot accept an activity you should stop it.
Enjoyment is the treasuring of a present experience. Enjoyment is the key to happiness. It is the anchor that keeps you in the present without thoughts of past or future. Learning to enjoy every moment and every experience is the key to remaining in consciousness.
Enthusiasm is enjoyment plus your vision or purpose. It includes everyone and does not create separation or exclusion. It is the highest form of enjoyment and can be likened to flow or being in the zone.
Spirituality and the Kabbala emphasized the need to eliminate reactions to negative states. Tolle and the Kabbala say the ability to eliminate negative reactions such as resentment, criticism, condescension, judgment, racism, jealousy, blaming, fear, and anxiety, keep you in your conscious mind and is the secret to enlightenment and transformation.
Awareness begins when you are conscious of your thoughts. You can observe them and know that you are thinking something negative. This is the start. When something annoys me or I start having a negative thought, I take three breaths and pay attention to the breathing. Then I listen to see if I am hearing everything in my environment. This brings me back to the present. If a noise or thought persists, I do it again. Once you start doing this through all activities, you will find that negative thoughts do not last long. The ego starts to lose control.
When you are moving on a positive path, your performance will avoid or find alternatives to what creates your fear. If you don’t worry about the future today, you can enjoy today.

Can We Separate Achievement from Ego?
Posted by: | Comments“The longing for love that is in every child is the longing to be recognized, not on the level of form, but on the level of being.” Eckhart Tolle, Awakeing to Your Life’s Purpose.
Ever have the desire to be loved for who you are and not what you achieve? Ever have the desire to be loved for who you are and not your possessions, income, title, status, good looks, or athleticism?
I can remember feeling more loved when I achieved good grades than when I didn’t. I can remember feeling more loved when I achieved first place than when I was second. It might have been my imagination. Then I remember getting more attention from women when I had position, income, a nice house and some nice cars.
I am sure half my motivation for achievement was to feel worthwhile and to get the attention I wanted. I was happy with my achievement and I was happy with the attention. I was wondering, who was manipulating who? I was liked because I achieved and I could assume greater liberties because of it.
This circle is what causes stress in our society. The people above me were striving for more income, status, and power. They were willing to reward me for my contribution. I was looking for more of what they had. It’s what powers the global economy.
Our minds’ revel in the conflict, pain, and unhappiness of sustaining this never ending circus. Eckhart Tolle discusses the pain-body and how a part of each of us really does like to feel unhappiness now and then. If we have an opportunity to blame, resent, complain, or show anger, it feeds this egoistic need. It gives us identity even if it is negative. Being a victim is also an explanation of why we haven’t achieved faster.
“Behind every negative self concept is the desire to be greater or better than others. Behind the need for superiority is the fear of inferiority.” Tolle
“Our ego has three states: wanting, thwarted wanting, and indifference.” Tolle. We become the victims of our ego states as opposed to being the masters. Separating our true self from our ego requires being able to recognize its thinking.
Unconsciousness is doing what we think. Consciousness is being aware of what we are thinking. Higher levels of consciousness and happiness require that we watch our mind think and decide whether or not to follow.
Let’s say our mind says we would feel better by eating a second piece of chocolate cake. The unconscious mind eats it. Let’s say our mind says we are insulted by someone’s words, actions, or behavior and should punch them in the nose. The unconscious mind, gang, cult, religion, or nation punches them in the nose.
The ego is very self centered. It’s agenda is often transparent. It is rarely generous or altruistic unless there is a self serving payoff. The ego would rarely understand “paying it forward.” It is more interested in payment in advance.
Can we understand that the need to achieve is not really who we are if the payoff is a sensual or gratification reward. The need to feel worthwhile is more Spiritually generated by giving.
The Kabbala says that the Creator can only give and man can only receive. After man has received to his fullest he finds gratitude. Then he wants to emulate the Creator by giving to others. If man could achieve 100% altruistic giving, he would merge with the Creator.
It is unlikely that we can achieve that end. We can feel gratitude immediately. We can appreciate our Oneness. We can feel a purpose of finding happiness and developing our gifts. We can keep others in mind as we live our lives and help others find happiness, acceptance, belonging, community.
“In the eyes of the ego, self esteem and humility are contradictory; in truth they are one and the same.” Tolle

Don’t Let Fear of Judgment Hold You Back
Posted by: | CommentsWhy are we relaxed around our friends and nervous in front of an audience?
Judgment
We live our lives in fear of judgment. We are often our own worst critic. Then we fear what our parents, friends, loved ones, company workers, or strangers may think.
Why do we depend on others to decide who we are?
Unfortunately, most of us are raised to be indebt to the system and not praised for the perfect being we are. Our parents have expectations that we will behave, study, enjoy school, get a job, get out of the house, and give them grandchildren.
We are criticized most of our youth for not quite living up to someone else’s dictates. There is the grading system in school which early on determines if we are worthy of life. There is even a social status for the A students and then the poor average C students.
We were raised in the Classic science modality; everything is matter and all thoughts and knowledge originate in the brain. Scientists now are more Spiritual than ever. They realize that the larger reality is outside the brain. The brain may just be a transceiver for knowledge that is translated into thoughts for the mind.
The real achievers in life seem to be the people who have passion, not straight A’s. The happiest people are those who have the opportunity to pursue their passions and engage on a daily basis. The science of the brain says these people have more dopamine which is scientific proof they are enjoying themselves.
The fight for control between government and religion would not allow us to have spirituality classes every year from kindergarten through college. It wouldn’t have to say which people God favors, just explain how the Universe began and the wonders of every creature, weather, and creative destruction.
If the classes delved into the atomic make up of everything on earth we would find that a few elements are responsible for water, air, earth, DNA, and man. Digging a little deeper we would find that quarks and gluons are at the basis of all atoms. That would mean that the Chinese, Hispanic, Black, Brown, and White children in our classes are all the same.
It would mean there is a grand design that created life and perpetuates the physical conditions that sustain it. The social order is much lower on the scale of existence than the natural order.
It took a deeper Spiritual connection for me to feel that if I am perfect by design and that the highest calling would be to develop my gifted core competencies and express myself to help others. It seems to make sense because that also makes me happiest.
Expressing my passions leaves me subject to judgment but does not shake my faith in who I am. If I want to make money expressing my passions, I just have to find how my services intersect with what those who are consuming need.
Our first order of business when we are young should be to realize we are entitled to be happy and then maintain a connection with the activities and feelings that sustain that happiness. We need love, belonging, kindness, companionship, caring, community, and contribution.
We have to give unselfishly to create the positive feed back loops that govern the Chaos of natural laws. Man is not really capable of 100% altruism or at that point he would be equal to the Creator. So giving with an agenda is still part of his accepted behavior.
Flow in activities or life is exercising our core competencies to engage in activities we love, to create the best performance for which we are capable. No one has the God given right to ask for anything more. Finding our voice and helping others find their voice is Stephen Covey’s idea of our highest purpose.
It would be the same for each of us when we learn to find ourselves and suspend judgment by those who should be working on their own consciousness.

Flow, Productivity, and Happiness
Posted by: | CommentsPeak Performance is the secret zone for all perfect action.
A friend of mine is an officer in the Marines. We were discussing how marines operate in the field in Afghanistan and how some men achieve the Medals of Honor.
He says they are drilled so thoroughly in combat exercises that action in the field becomes automatic. Through their training they can anticipate what someone is going to do and act before it happens. Everything seems to be moving in slow motion.
The advantage and disadvantage of engaging the enemy is they are often pumped high on drugs so they have no fear, but maybe they don’t think so well either. Better to be acting “in the zone” than on amphetamines.
Athletes experience the same feelings of being in the zone. Everything moves in slow motion so your reaction times seem to be quicker. I have experienced it a few times in sports and it is the most fun you could ever have.
I have felt it in surfing when the ocean is calm and the waves are rolling in steady. After you catch ten waves you are no longer thinking, you are just going through the motions and everything works perfectly.
Sales people are often taught scripts that they learn to make sound natural. Speakers get in the flow in front of audiences as they feel the rhythm of the audience’s pulse. As a writer, I can get into flow where the words come out on their own.
Three great steps to experiencing flow are Vision, Desire, and Action. The pre requirement is that you engage in something for which you are passionate or something important to you.
You have a feeling for what you want to achieve. You are willing to practice continuously. You have the courage to express yourself and shoot for your best performance.
Flow occurs when you understand the mechanics of your activity and don’t have to think about them. Then you drop into the activity without consideration of anyone’s judgment. You cannot see or hear distractions. You lose track of time as you enjoy your productivity.
In the meantime, your brain is pumping just the right amount of adrenaline and dopamine. Your relaxed focus is producing your Peak Performance. The happiness experienced makes it addictive. You want to do it everyday.

Peak Performance is for Organizations and Individuals
Posted by: | CommentsIndividuals want to Fullfill their Purpose and Organizations have Mission Statements. Individuals and Organizations can achieve their Goals together. Understanding the Mutuality of their interests can create their bond.
Organizations should note the Brand superiority of Companies that integrate their fate with workers, consumers, community, and planet sustainability. Worker and Consumer Consciousness is focused on Values.
People want kinder work places and Providers that have higher consciousness. In that conspicuous consumption has taken a back seat for all but the top 1%, a substitute is sought for material happiness.
This may be the evolution that saves man.
The more connected to who we are and why we are here, the more likely we are to treat others and the planet with more respect. If you can’t spend your way to happiness, you have to spend more time entertaining yourself and perhaps inner reflection.
We have to create our own happiness. Books such as “The Happiness Advantage” by Shawn Achor have shown that starting happy results in greater achievement. When we have the behavior that make us happy we have the ingredients that successful people have attained. We can start at the top.
Our brain tells us what makes us happy. “Flow” is one of those activities. When we engage in activities in which we have practice or expertise to the exclusion of distractions, we drop into “Flow’ or “Being in the Zone”. Our brain creates dopamine during this process which is our best “happiness” chemical.
Flow or Zone behavior is a relaxed, adrenalized state that allows us to perform at our Peak. People allowed to operate within their core competencies will perform better and be happier. Organizations that can integrate into their Mission the Core Needs of the people its existence serves, can create the support to flourish and lead.

Over Come Hitting the Wall Syndrome
Posted by: | CommentsWe run against our limits and then what happens?
Exercise has always been an excellent way for me to test and understand limits.
Last summer I was running the 40 stairs near my house that lead from the beach to the upper street. One day when my mind said my body was too tired to run that day I decided to test it.
I usually ran them 20 to 40 times with a record of 60 trips up and down. This day I started out and pushed to 80 to prove to myself the mind is a lazy master.
Lately, I haven’t been running more than 20 to 25 times.
I decided since I wasn’t going to surf, I would run them 40 times to get back to the old times. I like to run balanced on the balls of my feet with my hands up just like I would balance on my board.
I concentrate on looking up and not at the stairs so I can get comfortable that my feet and mind can work together and I can feel my feet. In skiing, snow boarding, and surfing you want to look ahead 10 feet and not at your feet.
At 28 trips I was dropping my hands on the way down. This is when a boxer gets knocked out. This is also when I am surfing that I lose my concentration and become a danger to myself.
If I lose concentration through tiredness, I will let a wave hit me wrong or get run over by a surfer I don’t see. When I am surfing and feel this loss of concentration, I get out. The only way to increase my safe time in the water is to get in better condition.
When I am reading and I feel my concentration slip, I stop reading. I get up and get food or do another task until my mind is back. I have learned to read for hours with very complicated material. At a certain point, I will be burned and have to stop.
What happens in other parts of our lives with tasks, our jobs, relationships, our careers, or our budgets? Are we aware of when we have lost interest or concentration? Do we have a limit of patience or stamina? Would we perform better if we had more patience, stamina, concentration power, or discipline?
Think of the areas where your performance or discipline could be improved. How long does it take before your will or interest wanders? Is there an obvious reason? What could you do to build more concentration time? Is this a sign that you and the objective are not compatible?
Flow is the state of happiness where you engage in a task in which you have competence and enjoyment. In this state, you suspend judgment on your performance and lose track of time. You are in a relaxed focus yet adrenalized state where you operate at your peak.
Finding “flow states” in tasks, hobbies, jobs, and relationships is the secret to happiness. It is the happiness process. Operating in your Core Competencies to achieve Peak Performance can be your focus.
Doing things you love is less likely to result in burn out and loss of concentration. You then develop drills or exercises that give you more stamina to stay in the “states” longer. It is also good to know when you lose concentration and how to rest until it returns.

What is Peak Personal Performance?
Posted by: | CommentsIt is your contribution.
What is it that you are that others get to experience?
What you think and say originate from your values.
A great place to start is what you think is your purpose and why are you here?
You get a greater feeling of security if you believe that a Creator is responsible for the Universe and that you are connected to all things. This gives you the feeling that you were born perfect and like everything else on earth, entitled to the abundance that is provided.
Society has provided a lot of stuff about the obstacle course you have to run and who you should emulate, but that side tracks a Spiritual mind.
If you have gratitude for being here and know that most living things have a purpose of contributing to the whole you can have higher meaning than living to acquire.
Performance implies judgment. We live in fear of judgment. We try to become someone and some profession that enables us to maximize our core competencies and pay us for our time. Depending on our skills we get various amounts of compensation for that time.
We are born entitled to happiness but we often get sidetracked jumping through the hurdles. We figure when we have satisfied enough people, the happiness will come.
If we stick with the idea that we were meant to be here and contribution of our greatest core competencies for the betterment of the greater good is our purpose we can often combine happiness, remuneration, and contribution into one.
This combination is called “Flow” or being in “The Zone”.
You have developed your passions into skills and enjoy the challenge of engaging in these skills to create performance. The engagement time creates dopamine in your brain which is your happiness. You perform without concern for judgment. Time is no obstacle. You are at your Peak.

Getting Our Lives into “The Zone”
Posted by: | CommentsThe definition of “the zone” or “flow” are the same.
The results are heightened levels of happy brain chemicals.
They are an indication that Alpha and Beta waves are operating at peak levels instead of the over the levels of Beta that cause anxiety.
The list of “to do’s” I would set out are as follows:
We attack
- Our health and fitness
- Our spirituality
- Our core competencies
- Our distractions
- Our Passions
- Our communities
- Our contribution
In an activity there are three main requirements for flow. It starts with engaging in a practiced skill with some high levels of expertise. It includes selecting a target objective that is a challenge but not overwhelmingly difficult. Thirdly, it requires blocking out distractions.
The result can be engaging in the activity unconcerned about judgment or time.
I find that I can drop into the zone in the mornings when I write and in my surf sessions. I start of slowly in each and as I get more engaged, I am only thinking about the task at hand. On a great surf day it is just catching a wave and paddling out to line up for the next one until I am too tired.
Setting up my life is more challenging. The toughest task is eliminating distractions and needless monkey chatter. I have found that a very pro active program enables me to have more good days.
I first have to eliminate as many distractions as possible which for me have been cell phones, TV, my sports addictions, and News addictions.
Most people’s number one distraction these days is financial. Living within our means has become more difficult. I have cut my costs and even have monthly savings. It gives me a feeling that I am making progress for the future regardless of the economy. It creates less stress.
Secondly, I am passionate about healthy eating and exercise. I continuously enjoy making my body healthier and more immune to sickness and disease. I feel confident that I resist illness and rarely lose days to “what’s going around.” I am not reliant on the outcome of the “healthcare” because I self medicate.
I build my mind and skills. The few core competencies I have are at the focus of my attention. Each day I work to improve my knowledge and my skills. I am rarely sliding backwards, I am moving into new territories.
I feel Spiritual in a oneness with nature. I have arrived at an intellectual and emotional connection to the fact God is in me and all things and that we are far more connected than we realize. I continuously pursue this connectedness.
Attachment to our communities is important for our contribution. I feel we are here to self actualize and contribute to others. Neurologists say we get a double dopamine pop when we help others find their voice, their purpose, or their happiness.
We help ourselves first, then our families, friends, neighborhoods, cities, nations and the global community. I spent years acquiring my fantasy cars and it mainly left me with the desire for another one. Trying to help people find their voice, purpose, or happiness is endlessly rewarding.
In the years of providing for a family it is difficult to avoid finances, busyness, and materialism. We leave our personal development and higher purpose for last.
Finding flow is blending them together and finding value in contributing more than acquiring. When we think first of how we can set ourselves up to give over what we can buy, we have made a big step.

How to Tell If You Are Eating Right
Posted by: | CommentsDoes the food have high water content?
All natural food except some of our protein has high water content.
Why? Because all bodies are about 80% water. It also means we are all oxygen and hydrogen. We breathe in the air which is mostly nitrogen and expel carbon dioxide. Our friends, the plants we eat, are taking in the carbon dioxide and breathing out the oxygen. Tell me there isn’t a plan.
Bears, gorillas, and elephants all eat high water content foods. Do they lack in strength stamina or energy? Yes, wild cats eat meat, but it is raw and 80% water content.
We and the animals are from the same DNA which is hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon. Why would we need different foods than they need?
High water content foods are higher vibration than low water content food which means they have higher energy. The sun is hydrogen and helium and at 27 million degrees, it is hard to beat for energy.
If you eat raw, as I have in the past, you will find that you can eat all you want and lose weight fast. That wasn’t my only purpose. I also never felt stuffed or got tired after I ate. I stopped having the afternoon let downs that frequently follow lunch.
Your connection to nature becomes more apparent to your psyche when you eat what is natural which lifts your Spirit. Knowing you are at one with the Universe gives you comfort that you are here for a purpose and part of that is to feel as good as possible.
I base my diet on a fruit bowl in the morning and a salad for dinner. Around that I have my home made vegetable soup with 15 ingredients including beans, rice, potatoes, yam, greens, carrots, and a chicken carcass with some seasonings and bouillon cubes.
I supplement with oat meal, eggs, peanut butter, flax seed, nuts, chicken, fresh bread, and my favorite little banana walnut muffins. The muffins are the only food I have that might be classified as processed.
I run and surf most days and can concentrate to read for unlimited hours. In a natural diet, the phlegm, inflammation, and free radicals mostly disappear from your body which often cause foggy brain and sickness. Eventually they cause disease.
If someone says I am a bear to live with, I have to ask if that’s a complement.

Living in Peak Performance and Flow
Posted by: | CommentsThis both a physical and spiritual odyssey.
Optimizing human potential is body, mind, and spirit.
The story starts with an appreciation that we are loved and on earth to enjoy all the bounty provided. We are gifted with a body that is a part of nature and has to be nurtured with the same purity as the living things we see around us.
We are mostly water and contain hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon. We are nurtured with foods that have high water content and natural vitamins and minerals. The closer we get to absorbing the natural food provided the better we feel both physically and spiritually.
Creating a mental connection to nature and the Universe by respecting our bodies creates a spiritual connection that opens the window to our purpose. We realize how great we can feel and how optimally our minds and bodies function, we realize we can contribute to help others feel the same. It is an important first step.
When we look to contribute we automatically assess our own core competencies. What are our natural talents, our aptitudes, and our passions? If we get these three in alignment, we will work more effortlessly to be productive. The beauty of the pursuit of passion is that time has no meaning.
When we have an interest and develop skills in completing the work then we live for the challenge and opportunity to engage. “Flow” is the happiness we experience while engaged in worthwhile passions. “Flow” is relaxed but adrenalized focus on our purpose.
Our purpose is our contribution. By thoroughly enjoying and engaging in our passions, we energize and encourage our sphere of influence to do the same. If everyone in the world was working in flow, there would be no wars. There would be abundance. There would be fulfillment and happiness.
Chaos Theory wonders if a butterfly flapping its wings in China can cause a tornado in Idaho. The positive and negative feed back loops of natural and social order create non linear results. That means that actions lead to other actions and sometimes to outrageous results. If we want peace, lets start with peak performance and flow.

Contribution Creates Happiness
Posted by: | CommentsIn the Kabbala, it is said the Creator can only bestow. He cannot receive. Before the Universe began there was nothing to receive so he created a Universe and life. Life is a vessel that can only receive. It is the purpose of living things.
When man has received and has great gratitude he finds that he also wants to give and bestow on others. Man has difficulty with 100% altruism. There is usually an agenda of recognition in some form.
Nonetheless the move toward 100% altruism is man’s way to approach unity with the Creator. The more we give, the better we feel.
I found that the years I spent working for my own aggrandizement and personal satisfactions had many rewards and many frustrations. I provided a great living for myself and my family. I enjoyed many of the pleasures of the materialistic life.
I also found that there is no end in the amount of material gratifications that are available and that we think we need once we get started on that as a path to happiness.
I found that eating healthy and fitness were habits to stay alive so that I could continue producing and ensure that the stress and luxurious life wouldn’t bring obesity and disease.
It took a long time to get the spiritual connection of taking care of my body because I was connected to nature. I had felt this connection early in life while camping in the Sierras and have always had a very active outdoor life. I always had this yearning to spend more time in nature.
When I moved to the beach in May of 2010 I created a direct connection. I moved into a raw diet. I exercised to my maximum. I felt the gratitude of being alive and part of a grand plan. I felt the reward of researching and writing on topics that could benefit others still dealing with the multitudinous responsibilities of societal life.
Cherishing who we are here and gratitude that we are here is part of moving to 100% altruism. Giving something everyday to family, friends, and community makes us feel connected and worthwhile. As vessels not yet united with the Creator, our agenda can be to feel satisfied that we are Contributing.
There are lots of discussions we hear about charity, “paying it forward”, treat others as we would want to be treated. They are all pieces of going from beings whose purpose is to receive abundance to enlightened beings that want to give back.
