Do We Have Connectivity and Separation Conflicts?
Posted by: | CommentsWe are confused as to why we are here, but we are getting it together
Darwin may have interrupted the lessons of the ancients by telling us we exist in an environment whose natural law is “survival of the fittest”. It seems to explain the conflicts we see in existence.
The ancients said everything was composed of a few substances and everything was connected. In general, there was little disagreement with the thought that God or a Creator had a hand in all creation.
Modern science has shown that the few elements of hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon can be found as the major components of the Sun, earth, water, air, man, and DNA.
All matter and all life in the Universe are made of the same components. There is communication and connectivity between cells, between natural systems, and in the space we cannot see.
We see global efforts to connect that are being enhanced by technology. Humans have a need and even an obsession to communicate.
And yet we were raised to learn how to differentiate ourselves. We experience the lower levels of consciousness that start with the need for sensual pleasure, then material possessions and then power. This is played out on a global scale as religions and nations emphasize separation.
Yet on a personal level we enjoy family, friends, and community. We want love, happiness, fulfillment, and joy.
Is it a matter of perspective that we seek both separation and unity?
If we were to see how every living thing and all matter are made of the same elements and accept even scientists proclamation that there had to be a creator in the intelligent design of the Universe, we could start to feel the connection and unity of the Universe.
If we then saw our existence as part of the plan we would see that everything on earth is created with perfection; we have nothing to prove. We are not going to change the natural order of things. In the communities of most species, the members work together to make life better for all the members.
Our higher purpose, if you want to base it on brain chemicals for happiness, is expressing ourselves to contribute to the greater good. The more we develop our skills and core competencies and express them to help others, the happier we get; our dopamine and serotonin guide us.
Negativity, selfishness, egocentricity, materialism create negative feedback loops that create more difficulties and unhappiness. The fact that we have more depressed, obese, and diseased people than ever in history shows we are not following natural laws.
We need to learn how we are and can be connected to everything and eliminate the pain of separation.
