Traffic Strategies

Building a website is only the beginning. Part 2 is creating mechanisms to retain and convert visitors to followers or customers. Part 3 is creating multi layers of traffic that can each source the other.
Mini Sites or Special Static Pages can break down your many services into smaller categories to create traffic in a narrow niche. A mini site can be accelerated in page rankings, have a social media outreach, and create branding for the company.
PPC plus Organic. Companies that participate in PPC without optimizing their site generally find their ROI is very low. The optimum is to create traffic with PPC while search engine optimization builds key words, retention and conversion, back links, and social media. The end product is an online mega force. Eventually PPC can be dropped.
Retracking. Sites with thousands of visitors a month can take advantage of a program that allows a cookie to be placed on visitors computers so that when they visit other sites they see your company banner. After seeing your banner six or seven times they frequently return. Its recycling traffic and gaining higher conversion rates.
Affiliate Programs. One of the most prolific sales teams is empowering others to sell your products and make a living doing it. Amazon is the leader. By allowing others to blog, socialize, and advertise for you, your returns can multiply at rates you could not achieve on your own.
Back Linking. Getting others to place your site on their site has two rewards. You get traffic from their site. The search engines see this as an indication of authority and move you up the page rankings where you then get more free traffic. Back links are created by exchanging with other sites but also by blogging, article writing, PR, getting referred to sites such as delicious or digg, and then posting your site on any social media site such as Face Book or Twitter.
